JewishERGs has released a montage of menorah photos submitted by member Jewish Employee Resource Group (ERG) leaders from around the world. The initiative was created in response to the shock, sadness, and grief that many experienced on the first night of Chanukah following recent tragic events.
“While for so many, the first night of Chanukah brought deep pain, Jewish ERG leaders chose to respond by bringing more light into the world,” said JewishERGs Founder and Executive Director Steven Phillips. “These menorahs are more than candles; they are acts of courage, solidarity, and hope.”
From Sydney to Seattle, London to Israel, Jewish ERG leaders lit their menorahs at home and at community gatherings, then shared photos as a collective statement that Jewish identity and Jewish life will not be pushed into the shadows. The resulting montage showcases dozens of glowing Chanukah lights, each one representing a leader, a workplace community, and a commitment to stand against antisemitism and hate.
The project highlights the role of Jewish ERGs as a critical source of connection, visibility, and safety for Jewish employees across industries. By sharing their menorahs publicly, leaders signaled to colleagues and companies that Jewish employees are present, proud, and determined to create inclusive, secure workplaces even in moments of fear.
JewishERGs invites employers, allies, and ERG leaders of all backgrounds to view and share the montage, and to use it as a starting point for conversations about Jewish safety, belonging, and support in the workplace.
